DEEP-SEA ECOLOGY AND TAXONOMY OF SHRIMPS:
I continue to be interested in the deep ocean, its ecology, and the organisms which live there (especially deep-sea shrimps). Here is a bibliography of my research on the taxonomy of meso-, bathy-, and abyssopeligic shrimps and some of the organisms that live on them:

AMERICAN WW II ORPHANS NETWORK (AWON):
My father, Pvt. Carl A. Divine, was killed in action, November 25, 1944, during the Battle of the Huertgen Forest in Germany. He is buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery in Belgium. AWON is a national organization whose members include sons and daughters (as well as grandchildren, nieces, and nephews) who fathers were KIA or MIA during World War II. Please visit our website at http://www.awon.org/awmain.shtml and read about our organization, and our tributes to our fathers.
CIVIL WAR HISTORY:
I especially enjoy reading and writing about American Civil War history, especially the guerilla and partisan
warfare which took place during the war. I recently had an article published in the Spring 2009 issue of the
Tennessee Historical Quarterly dealing with the murder of a distant relative in Eastern Tennessee in 1865. I
am currently working on another manuscript dealing with Civil War Pension frauds committed in Eastern
Tennessee.
BLUEGRASS AND OLD TIME MUSIC:
Don't ask me why, but I really enjoy Bluegrass and Old Time music. I suspect it is because of ancestral
roots going back to the mountains of Eastern Tennessee. In any case, here are several of my favorite sites
dealing with this uniquely American form of music. Keep in mind though that some folks say that there is a
fine line between playing the older Old Time Music and not being able to play at all!
Sugar In The Gourd. Streaming old-time music.
Spotify. Vast music library lets you play albums, playlists, etc. Free and premium versions.
Early American Roots Music. The Juneberry78s Old Time Music Sampler section has over 750 songs from the
1920s & 1930s from over 400 artists. If you like this type of music, you can spend a lot of time listening or
downloading here. Other sections have lots of different genres.
